He gave me permission to use it as a reference. The sky and plains in the background were not in the reference and were added in such a way to elevate the cheetah family higher than they were in the original image. As this was in the early days of my experimentation and as my previous experience was comprised primarily of graphite drawings,  I decided to start with graphite as a grisaille and then layered over the top CP. It lacks depth, the colors are dirty and it could have had several more layers of CP pigment.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was learning the response of the paper to pigment. The paper here is Strathmore Drawing Medium and the colored pencils are PrismaColors. It is comprised of many layers of these pencil colors. It is less than desired as a CP but it spurred me into further experiments.
