11X24 inches with graphite on Stonehenge paper. This was my first foray into drawing a girl and her horse. I managed to achieve the fluid movement of the two. In real life, they are a perfect match. Husband said it was one of my better ones recently. I gave it to Chiara and she said she loved it.
In this drawing I used graphite as a grisaille for this drawing. 24 X 15 inches on Stonehenge paper using Faber Castell coloured pencils. This is my catalog piece for Yellowsprings Art Show 2011.
I was born in Sydney, Australia and from the age of six always had a pencil in my hand. I pursued art through school that led to an exhibition of drawings that toured New South Wales. I became artistically sidetracked when I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at Sydney University and a PhD at London University. After moving to the United States to further my scientific career, I rediscovered my passion for drawingin 2001; during a personal tragedy. Art once again was my friend.I love graphite but I enjoy drawing with colored pencil. More recently I have introduced Pan Pastels into my art.
Science is reflected in my art. "To me art and science are one. I pursue my art the way I pursue a scientific experiment, with research and detailed knowledge of the subject."
